Business Journal Index
With over 1,000 pages, the Bus iness Journal Index cites business topics spanning the greater Milwaukee region.  Originally maintained as a card file, business librarians created and used this resource during the 1980s and 1990s. The citations are arranged by topic in alphabetical order. 

City of Milwaukee Archives List of Collections
This list provides an overview of the holdings of the City of Milwaukee Archives at the Milwaukee Public Library. Materials are arranged by City department. The City of Milwaukee Archives are part of the Central Library’s Humanities and Archives Department.   

City of Milwaukee Premises Records Address Index
The Central Library houses the City of Milwaukee Archives, including Premises Records compiled by the city’s Office of Building Inspection for some buildings that were in existence in Milwaukee between 1888 and 1980. This index provides a listing of the street addresses for which there are Premises Records in the City Archives.

Currently Received Periodicals List
The Central Library of Milwaukee Public Library has an extensive collection of Periodicals in print, microfilm, and microfiche.  This list provides the titles of all magazines and journals currently received by the Central Library.

Historic Annual Report Index
More than 800 companies with almost 2000 entries comprise the Wisconsin Business Annual Reports Collection.  This collection spans six decades and concentrates on Wisconsin-based companies.

Historic Photo Collection
The Historic Photo Collection is the main portion of the Historic Photo Archives, housed in the Humanities Department at the Central Library. This collection consists of thousands of photos from Milwaukee’s history, ranging in date from the late 19th century through the latter part of the 20th century.

Historical Sheet Music Index
Arranged alphabetically by title, the Historical Sheet Music Collection consists of tens of thousands of donated song sheets mostly from the 1800’s through 1950. 

Kaleidoscope Newspaper Index
Volume One, Issues 1 thru 26 (October 6-19, 1967 through November 8-21, 1968)
The Kaleidoscope was an underground newspaper published in Milwaukee from 1967 to 1971.   The index offers a time capsule of the colorful counter culture movement in Milwaukee.

Local History Manuscript Collections List of Holdings
This list provides an overview of the holdings in the Local History Manuscript Collections at the Milwaukee Public Library. The Local History Manuscript Collections contain manuscripts, diaries, correspondence and other primary source material that focus on the City of Milwaukee.

Trostel Collection of German Theater Scripts
This collection of more than 1500 plays in German dates from 1865 to 1936 and was used by the German Theater stock company in Milwaukee.  Named in honor of Albert O. Trostel, they were donated to the Milwaukee Public Library by his widow, Clara Uihlein Trostel.

Wisconsin Artists Index
The Wisconsin Artists Index was compiled by indexing over 40 books about Wisconsin art and artists and contains over 2300 citations.

Wisconsin Land Ownership Map and Plat Book Index
The Milwaukee Public Library has an extensive collection of plat books and maps showing property ownership for the entire state of Wisconsin. These land ownership books and maps range from 1858 until the present. The index lists the Wisconsin land ownership map and plat book holdings that are part of the library’s collection.
